I cannot say enough about this wonderful place Chetica Ranch.   You arrived as a visitor and you leave as part of your family.  Months before I arrived, Lorena, Ruben and Erick were helping me every step of the way, taking care of things, Marcella, Erick and Carmen take such good care of me after my surgery and I don’t know what I would have done without my angel Sharon.  Everyday smiles and being spoiled by Maria and Marta.  My cabin was beautiful and the view from my window breath taking.   You are treated like family and spoiled rotten in this beautiful setting.  Gastric bypass surgery recovery is not an easy thing.  But I can honesty say I received the very best of care, warmth and loving attention.  Marcella and Lorena regularly spoke with my doctor to ensure everything was going well and they specially prepared my food.   They all made recovery a pleasant thing.   I will be back!

Lorena and Ruben, thank you for making this wonderful place for us to recover, the care and attention to details is incredible.  I had a wonderful time in my vanity healing.  Every thing here is beautiful and so special in this exotic land.  The food has been wonderful and I am looking forward to the Chetica cookbook.   The best thing about this stay is letting you guys take charge of not only our stay but also our full care. Thank you Lorena, Miguel, Ruben, Sharon, Erick, Maria and Marcella for making my stay at Chetica a warm, personal experiences.  I am fascinated by the architecture and furnishing of your cabins and see all the thought that has gone into providing things that make a visit more pleasant, the CD and DVD players, coffee maker and microwave and refrigerator.  You have welcomed all, and my suggestions to make a value accommodation even better!  We loved walking the grounds and seeing the gorgeous scenery.   I spent peaceful hours lying on the couch in Sevilla enjoying all the beautiful treetops from my windows.  Sharon is one of your greatest assents.  Miguel is simply “adorable” Everyone has a great sense of humor. You can be sure I will high recommend Chetica!  The donkey, horses, cows and bell frogs added to the wonderful atmosphere!

To my dear Chetica family, when my dentist give me the bad news last month, I knew the silver lining in my cloud would be my return to my beloved Chetica.  This trip was longer than my last, so I am definitely spoiled now!  I feel so pampered in every way that perhaps I should race and warn my family it will take me a while to return from my present princess state to my normal reality.  I feel joy for those who have not yet come to this enchanted place, because when they do arrive, their happiness here will surely transform their lives. To the chetica ranch family, our stay here has been a warm inviting, safe place to land.  It’s like we’ve came home after a long time away.  Lorena, you are the heart and soul and mother and Ruben with the courage to dream big.  What a combination!  All of your extended family that takes care of us is warm and kind with the sunniest natures.  Erick is a wonderful asset and is soooo patient! Chetica is kept so clean and the food tasty but also so healthy, we both fell great, you’ve been able to bring your business into your family and go well beyond what anyone else could ever try to accomplish.  We are so grateful for all you have done.   We’ll be back!  Love.

Life occasionally gives us refreshing breaks from hectic demands and this has been a wonderful experience of a positive world. To be coddled in our recuperation state here at Chetica was of most kindness to our spirit.   There seems to be nothing that seemed too trivial to be embarrassed to ask.  Your kindness and support was daily encouragement for restoration of heath.  Laughing, chatting, and sharing were daily enjoyments.  The clean air,  and beautiful environment were so appreciated.  Your family is beautiful.   We so enjoyed purr clean cabin,  early break fast and your attention to detail.   Every meal was enjoyed.   Thank you for your lovely efficient introduction to the warmth of central American hospitality packaged in a gracious business style.   We love you.  God bless you.

To the Chetica family.   I felt like a princess here at Chetica!!  My fears, my anxiety and my torment for the unknown, have become happiness, tranquility, serenity and away from recovery.  I will not only come back to Chetica ranch but I will highly recommend your establishment to who ever wants or needs to go to Costa Rica.     Chetica is an enchanted place.  Lorena has taught the family members how to made everything feel food with a language barrier.   You do not need to speak Spanish to feel like a princess at Chetica.

to Chetica, even though I was just the mom with my baby, I wanted to take this time to say “thanks” to all at Chetica for the wonderful care given to Jannie these last 2 weeks.  Our stay here has been truly a life long experience that we will always have with us.   The people here Sharon (excellent nurse and person) Marta (super clean), Maria (super person) have taken so much of their time to help Jannie and me with whatever we asked or needed.  Couldn’t have a better staff.   To Ruben and Lorena, thanks for having such a wonderful memorable place to come to get well, and to relax.   And last but not least to Erick and Marcella, we couldn’t have got thought the rough times and good times without you.    We will share our wonderful time here with you.  And you never know, we may be back again.  Thank you again

You took such care in helping me with my angel about my daughter’s death, you gave me love and hope for a future and you even comforted me with your prayers and affection when I was afraid in the night. When I return home tomorrow, I know that I have a future ahead of me now.

WOW!!! What a great recovery place, Chetica is a sanctuary!!
We always felt secure and even pampered. We loved the staff, our privacy in our cottage, the grounds and specially our gourmet meals always a surprise and delicious.
All appreciated the time and effort that went into our traditional Thanksgiving feast (which was tastier than what we have in the States!) That was a very special touch!!

There aren’t enough words to express how truly incredible I think Chetica Ranch is and what is stands for.  The angels are certainly watching you care for us and keep balance, safety, comfort, nurturance and a sense of family that no other recovery center would ever fathom. My home away from home.   I came alone amidst a great deal of protest and fear of substandard medical care.  They were all wrong.  My doctor is a class act and once I was returned to Chetica…  Sharon (my guardian angel) got me settled in and I never experienced anything but loving care from everyone.  Terrific food, Erick and Omar helped me around, and Karla kept my room from exploding.   Magda, what a sweetheart and Lorena and Ruben, how you keep it all straight, is a miracle.  I know it has been a heart breaking time for you but you have handled it with such grace.  May God bless your special mission here and continue to provide all you need to see your vision grow.  You deserve all good things.   You are a beautiful family! Prior to coming to the Chetica Ranch I honestly didn’t expect a whole lot, however after first arriving at the Ranch, I felt right at home. Everyone, including Erick, staff, cooks, maids, etc, made accommodations and I felt very comfortable being here.  The food was great and everyone attended to my needs.  The only issue I has was the internet services.  It didn’t work all of the time for me.  I particularly enjoyed the one of a kind housing and scenic area.  I would recommend this place to anyone who is considering having surgery in Costa Rica.  I previously stayed at Las Cumbres and I can honestly say “ hands down”  that Chetica Ranch is superior in comparison for many,  privacy is of the almost  importance.  Here at Chetica those regrets are granted, in contrast to other retreats.   I would recommend only Chetica Ranch to anyone considering plastic surgery.   This is a difficult thing for me to share with others.  Thank you so much for providing a quality service at a reasonable rate.

Mi amigos y amigas, it is almost time to get up and prepare for my departure from this land, and from this wonderful experience that the Lord has brought into my live.  As I laid in bed this morning, I reflected upon some of the things I have experienced, felt and enjoyed,  there have been so many, the beauty of the country, the lush greenery, the sound of the rain in the middle of the night on the tin roof,  fire-flies dancing through the trees, bring back memories from earlier years.  So many new sights, sounds, tastes,  like “flor de itabo” and the delicious meals,  all strange to the tongue,   so many visual, tactile, sensations to remember.  But the thing I enjoyed the most has been having the opportunity I have had to see love at work in such a little corner of the world.  I arrived as a stranger, 7 days ago in this strange bur beautiful land. And leave with a heavy heart. It is such a wonderful place.  I’ve had a lot of plastic surgery, which at times I regretted having done, but I count on you and your “angelitos”  to comfort me and make me feel better.  Sharon was my own personal angel,  I could not have done it without her.  The food here was excellent, each and every meal, and the care was extraordinary.  It feels like a second home to me and I will definitely return. Lorena and Ruben,  You have a wonderful and beautiful recovery retreat ranch.  It is beautiful. It takes your breath away to see out over the mountains and hills and all the greenery.  Your family and staff are so wonderful, Francis, Sharon, Carla and Mama, and also Eric and Omar for transportation!  And at times Ruben too!  Sorry Ruben  you had to have surgery, but you need to slow down and do what the Dr. says and you will heal up soon.  My prayers are with you.  Ruben Jr. and Carolina are so polite as well as Marcella and Erick and the kids.  And the staff’s children, they are so great!  The cottages are all great and so different, and you have a lot of projects still to come.  We whish you luck!  Thank you so much for the smiles, hugs friendly touches and all to make us all feel special!  I hope to someday come back soon, and do more sightseeing  in Costa Rica also!  Thank you again.

To the Chetica staff.  This has been a wonderful experience.  From the very beginning when Omar met me at the airport, everything was gone smoothly , the staff ahs been pleasant and responded  to all  my needs.  I started this journey with a fair amount of apprehension within 24 hrs I knew I had made the right decision to stay at Chetica!  I am only sorry I didn’t have an opportunity to see beautiful Costa Rica, next time I will be back and I will stay with my friends at Chetica,  my thanks and love to all.

The Chetica Ranch.  At, outstanding!  A true national treasure!  A picture of the ranch and staff should be in WEBSTERS DICTIONARY,   next to the word: caring, understanding, patient, knowledgeable, dedicated, and gracious.   The nutritious and great tasting meals dedicated to better health and healing were fabulous.  Suggestions and arrangements for activities and tour were great.  Having a personal driver that knowledgeable and bilingual was wonderful  and a relief  to us, Spanish language impaired individuals.   We were made to feel a true part of the Chetica family.  If it weren’t for our lives back home, you would have been forced to legally evict us to free up Sevilla!  Ruben and Lorena have discovered the true wealth of live.  The wealth of friendship that will follow them long after they are gone and missed by many.  Enjoyed very much.  WE SHOULD RETURN… John Holden  (Tom Hanks-Sevilla)  Naples, Fl.

Dear Ruben, Lorena and Chetica family. Dear Chetica family,  thank you for taking such wonderful care of me.  This is my 2nd trip.  I had some of the best vegetarian food ever here!  Coming from Texas, where we have been without rain for months, the long rainy afternoons were a special treat.  You truly live in paradise.  I get to travel world wipe in work, but this , by far was  one of the most relaxing times I have ever had.   You have a wonderful family here, the entire team is fabulous and is very gentle and loving.  It is bitter sweet emotions that I depart. I am delighted with the choice I made of staying with you at Chetica.  Thank you for your hospitality and care of me following my surgery. Dear Chetica family.  All of your recommendations are very well earned!  After much searching for a suitable stay post plastic surgery, my mother exchanged emails with dear Ruben and Lorena,  and that sealed the deal!  Even through mail their kindness and generosity showed through, and we and found our stay.  It has been an incredible experience here despite the pain from surgery, with the TLC provided by all your caretakers, the delicious full meals, and the wonderful company.  The next time was in Costa Rica.

To Lorena, Ruben, and everyone who Works here.  I can’t find the words to say how wonderful my stay was here!  I usually am so independent, I hate people doing things for me,  but the kindness and gracious  of all the staff here made it easy to relax and accept being care for.  The physical care after surgery, the wonderful food, made me feel like I was at home being cared for by my family. The evening we arrived at Chetica was rainy. We were greeted happily with umbrellas, wonderful smiles and delicious hot coffee.  We were immediately enveloped in the warmth of all the people who make up this wonderful “family” of Chetica.  Ruben and Lorena, you have put together a really special group of people to live and work with your family. I just want to thank you all most sincerely for the wonderful care you have given me during my stay. I know I could not have found any place better. It felt like being as comfortable as home with private nurses.  And I can’t say enough about how wonderful the food is.  I don’t remember the last time I’ve eaten so well.  Thank you for making me feels so at home.  I know that my surgery has gone so flawlessly because of your medical attention. This being my first experience with plastic surgery and a surgical procedure outside the U.S., I was very apprehensive. I was put at case the moment I stepped out of the airport when I saw Omar standing there waiting for me. He told me a lot about Costa Rica and Chetica on our ride back to the ranch. My surgery was the next day and when I returned, Sharon was there with her smiles and wonderful care.  I felt very comfortable and at home my entire stay!  Everyone here is so polite and caring.  Ruben and Lorena, you are outstanding hosts.  I feel that you have made that extra effort to accommodate us.  I want to extend a heart felt thank you to everyone here for making this a memorable experience for me.  I will certainly give Chetica a favorable recommendation. Anne Morrow Lindberg wrote a book called “Gifts from the sea”  about a 2 week period when se left her family of 5 kids and famous husband for 2 weeks alone at the ocean, I’ve read the book several times and wondered at her connection and introspection. You are my “Gift”; I traveled alone to a foreign country for major surgery.
